Reviews
This book serves as a very introduction to the Dix. The reader is provided a history of his paintings, an exposition of how his artistic styles/techniques changed over time as well, to a lesser degree however, how his life and art intersected. Plus the illustrations contained in the book, as is the usual case with respect to Taschen publications, are quite impressive. Not quite museum quality but not very far below that either. This is especially impressive as museum quality art books usually go in the $100 or so range and this particular Taschen volume is more like a fifth to a quarter that (at least when this review was written). The quality of the reproductions are unsurpassed for the price.Highly recommended.
